Exhibition space at regional packaging show already over 90% sold

PropakCape 2014

With sales already exceeding 90% of available floor space, Propak Cape has received an overwhelming response with exhibition space likely to be sold out months before the show. Taking place at the Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) from 21-23 October 2014, the show is a must for all involved in packaging, printing, labeling, food processing and plastics, providing exhibitors with the opportunity to generate sales, gain valuable sales leads and develop business connections. Together with co-located shows Print Expo, Pro-Label Cape, FoodPro and Pro-Plas Expo, Propak Cape brings exhibitors together across the various sectors and enables visitors to engage with the most progressive companies in the country and view new products, latest industry trends, product developments and on-site product demonstrations.

“Propak Cape will have a full range of packaging products, equipment and materials on display including converting, packaging materials, suppliers of packaging, packaging and ancillary machinery and end of line materials handling,” says Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery, organisers of the show. “It’s an exciting industry,” says Corin. “With technological advances continuing to impact packaging in more developed markets, innovations such as adding sound, light, colour and movement to packaging are enabling marketers to capture significant consumer attention and sales. The industry is ever-changing and dynamic. Printing plays a significant role in the packaging industry and is highlighted at co-located Print Expo which will showcase machinery and equipment for pre-press and digital printing, finishing and consumables.”

The continuing growth of the food processing industry has seen FoodPro exhibitor sales increase with a focus on food equipment and ingredients for the food and beverage processing industry. Processing equipment used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, toiletries and detergent industries will also be on display. ProPlas also continues to grow, demonstrating the strength of this industry, and will showcase plastics processing machinery, blow moulding equipment, extrusion equipment, granulators, injection moulding equipment, processing aids and materials.”

The Western Cape is the perfect home for Propak Cape. As a major exporter of wine, fruit and other valuable commodities to international markets, the area is heavily reliant on the packaging and associated industries in realising the country’s export potential and the region’s all-important stake in earning valuable foreign exchange. In addition to the Cape based companies, exhibitors are drawn from all over South Africa as well as international participants.

Following on from Propak Cape 2014, the successful Propak Africa returns to the Expo Centre, Nasrec, from 15 to 18 March 2016. The significant benefit derived by exhibitors at this year’s Propak Africa was demonstrated by early bookings taken for the next show. By close of business on the last day of the 2013 show, around twenty percent of exhibitors had already booked exhibition space for March 2016.
